Westminster Business School, London
About the School
Westminster is the heart of London - an ancient city in its own right,
home of parliament, royal palaces, courts of law, with both an abbey
and a cathedral within its boundaries. A world class commercial centre,
Westminster provides work for many millions of modern knowledge workers
around the globe. Westminster is truly a part of the global economy.
The Westminster Business School is itself an integral aspect of the
busy life of the capital. We are one of the ten schools, which today
make up the strongly established University of Westminster (Foundation
Year 1838). Through various name changes over the years - don't forget
that the polytechnic of Central London was the first institution of its
kind - the School has been delivering business and management
programmes in the heart of London since the 1930's.
The Mission
The mission of Westminster Business School is to be a leading provider
of full-time and part-time business education for a local, national and
international clientele, and to be a centre of expertise and high
quality research in a range of business skills and disciplines.
Course Portfolio
We have a broad portfolio of management qualifications tailored to fit
current and developing requirements of the professional business
community. These include specialisms in Human Resource Management,
Personnel and Development, Business Information Technology and Finance,
Marketing and Marketing Communications and General Management. All of
our courses are designed to incorporate an international flavour to the
subject matter and because of the modular nature of our programmes,
options can often be taken from the whole range of the Westminster
Business School postgraduate portfolio.
Facilities
The School is on the University's Marylebone Campus, close to Baker
Street tube station and opposite Madame Tussaud's wax museum. We have
a building to match our aspirations. A superb modern library, hi-tech
lecture halls and teaching spaces, state of the art computer labs and
comfortable study spaces reserved for our postgraduates. All in all, a
great place to study.
The Campus is completing a multi-million pound refurbishment. This has
included a more than 1005 increase in our library facilities,
installation of state-of-the-art computer labs and a complete refit of
the management teaching spaces including the building of a suite of
brand new teaching rooms. The final stage of the refurbishment will
focus on the development of student and staff social spaces.
