There are currently some 17,000 students from all over the UK and 60 countries worldwide. Many benefit from 'sandwich' courses with a year's work-placement in industry or commerce. The University recently received excellent research grades in History, Social Work and Music and high teaching quality scores in Education, Politics, Hospitality Management and Transport and Logistics.

Town centre campus
The attractive Queensgate Campus is adjacent to the town centre with shops, bus and rail stations, pubs and clubs all close at hand. Student residences are available around the town and at the 1432-bed Storthes Hall Park Student Village which offers en-suite accommodation and sports and leisure facilities.
The University offers a high level of student support. In addition to careers advice and information Student Services offers accommodation advice, counselling services and a chaplaincy.
Good location
Huddersfield is one of the largest towns in the country without city status. It is best known for its musical and sporting traditions. The award-winning McAlpine Stadium is home to Huddersfield's professional football and rugby league clubs as well as an increasing number of sporting activities.
The town is surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery in the British Isles and is within easy reach of the Peak District and Yorkshire Dales as well as the major urban centres of Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield.
There are excellent road and rail links and the cost of living and housing compares favourably with other regions of Britain.
