So you're going to university and you know that at some point you're going to have to bite the bullet, put your head in a book and study. You might well want to brush up on your skills to meet the challenges ahead. Universities often run free study technique courses which should be advertised probably around the NUS building, alternatively ask your tutor.

In the mean time, whilst I'm sure you don’t want us to bore you with all that right now, here are some basic points which might keep you on the straight and narrow.
